All plumbing contractors who do work outside the scope of plumbing such as tile work, carpentry work, total bathroom remodeling, are really required under the HOME IMPROVEMENT contractor registration law to carry the insurance. General liability limits are available in the amounts of: $500,000. or $1,000,000. One million coverage is almost always chosen because the difference is very little.  (Additional coverage up to 10 million is available through an umbrella policy.)
